TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Officials in Tacoma say part of the roof on a downtown Tacoma Public Works building collapsed Tuesday afternoon. No one was injured. Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Chandler says heavy rain is the likely culprit.

City spokesman Rob McNair-Huff tells The News Tribune that employees working inside the warehouse “heard some disturbing sounds in the building and got out before the roof collapsed.”

At least six workers were inside.

City workers are assessing the building to decide how to temporarily shore up the site.
