ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — UCF coach George O’Leary’s message to his team is clear as it heads into its season finale against UTEP: Go out on a winning note.

With a 4-7 record the Knights can’t become bowl eligible in their final game after winning the Liberty Bowl just a year ago.

But a senior class that has been the most successful in school history says going out with a victory is just as important.

The Knights face a UTEP team that is 5-6 and can earn coach Mike Price his fourth bowl appearance in his eight seasons leading the Miners. But UTEP will be without senior safety TraVaun Nixon, who leads the team with four interceptions. He injured the PCL in his knee in the Miners’ 57-28 loss to Tulsa last week.
