GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — No. 10 Florida is playing without starting forward Erik Murphy, who injured his right knee in practice Thursday.

Murphy was on crutches and unavailable for Friday night’s game against Jacksonville. Coach Billy Donovan is expected to address the injury afterward.

Murphy, a 6-foot-10 junior from Rhode Island, is averaging 10.0 points and 4.0 rebounds for the Gators (3-1) this season.

He was suspended in April following his arrest on a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge. He was reinstated five months later and had started all four games this season.

Will Yeguete replaced him the lineup against Jacksonville.

Center Patric Young also is still dealing with an eye injury. He was poked in the right eye during Monday’s game against Wright State and was wearing protective glasses against Jacksonville.
