Southern University beats Florida A&M 64-61

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (AP) — Jameel Grace scored 15 points and Southern University defeated Florida A&M 64-61 in the South Padre Invitational Friday.

Mike Celestin had 10 points, including a 3-pointer with just under 2 minutes to play that gave the Jaguars (2-3) a 62-59 lead. Celestin made two free throws in the final minute and Southern held on after holding a 38-24 halftime lead. Derick Beltran added 13 points and Madut Bol had 11 for Southern.

Avery Moore led all scorers with 20 points for Florida A&M (0-5). Reggie Lewis had 14 points and Yannick Crowder had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jeremy Dean had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Rattlers.
