Cadot’s shot at buzzer lifts TCU by Houston 81-80

HOUSTON (AP) — J.R. Cadot grabbed his own rebound and scored in the final second to give TCU an 81-80 victory over Houston on Saturday night.

Cadot’s shot followed a layup by J.J. Thompson that had put Houston on top 80-79 with 6 seconds remaining.

Hank Thorns’ 15 points led the Horned Frogs (4-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Amric Fields added 14, Garlon Green 13, Cadot 11 and Kyan Anderson 10.

Alandise Harris made 8 of 10 shots and scored 16 points to lead the Cougars (3-2), who dropped their second in a row despite shooting 54.5 percent (30 of 55). Joseph Young made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points.

TCU led 43-34 at half, extended that to 11 and was still up 78-70 with 1:26 left. Thompson and Young combined for 10 points in the next minute to push Houston ahead 80-79 with 6 seconds left before Cadot won it.
