MIAMI (AP) — Jeremy Allen scored 19 points, hitting the game-winner at the buzzer, as Florida International knocked off previously unbeaten Coastal Carolina 64-62 Saturday night.

The Panthers (2-3), who led by as many as nine in the first half, tied the game at 62 on a layup by Dominique Ferguson with 41 seconds left.

The Chanticleers (5-1) called two timeouts to set up for Anthony Raffa, who missed a jumper with 7 seconds to play and FIU’s Tola Akomolafe rebounded.

Coastal Carolina, coming off a 60-59 win at Clemson and an earlier victory over LSU, opened the second half with a 14-3 run to lead 42-36 with 16:38 to go.

The Chanticleers maintained the lead until Akomolafe’s tip-in put the Panthers ahead 55-53 with 6:09 to go. Coastal Carolina went up 60-58 on a layup by Chris Gradnigo, who finished with 15 points, then made only 2 of 4 from the line.
