Alaska-Anchorage tops UC Irvine 77-63

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Taylor Rohde scored 28 points — 16 from the free-throw line — and added 12 rebounds as Alaska-Anchorage defeated UC Irvine 77-63 in the seventh-place game of the Great Alaska Shootout.

Travis Thompson and Abebe Demissie had 13 points apiece for the Division II Seawolves (1-2) and Lonnie Ridgway scored 11 points. Rohde was 16 for 18 from the foul line while UC Irvine went 10 for 16 as a team.

The Anteaters (0-6) scored the game’s first seven points, but the host Seawolves took their first lead at 29-28. UC Irvine led 44-42 at halftime but managed just 19 points in the second half, and was outscored 13-2 in the final 712 minutes.

Daman Starring had 21 points to lead UC Irvine.
