Gardner helps UCLA rout Colgate 68-48

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) — Rebekah Gardner had 21 points and 10 rebounds, leading No. 25 UCLA to a 68-48 victory over Colgate in the consolation game of the Holiday Inn Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday night.

Atonye Nyingifa added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Bruins (3-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Rhema Gardner added 10 boards as UCLA outrebounded winless Colgate 49-36.

The Bruins shot 30 percent in the first half, but led 30-21 at the break. They opened the second half with a 9-0 run.

Jhazmine Lynch had 14 points for Colgate (0-7), which shot 35.7 percent from the field and committed 20 turnovers.
