James Madison defeats Pennsylvania 60-58

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Humpty Hitchens hit a jumper with 12 seconds remaining to lift James Madison to a 60-58 win over Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Julius Wells blocked a shot by Mike Howlett with 1 second remaining to preserve the victory in the Philly Hoop Group Classic for the Dukes (3-2), who won their second in a row.

James Madison led 56-50 with 4:54 to play, but Penn battled back and tied the game 58-58 on a 3-pointer by Zach Rosen with 1:38 to go. Hitchens missed a 3-pointer, then Rosen committed a turnover to set up the game-winning basket.

A.J Davis scored 19 points and Andrey Semenov added 15 for James Madison.

Rosen scored 15 points and Henry Brooks added 10 for Penn, (3-4), which has lost three games in a row. The Quakers have scored season-low 58 points on consecutive nights, losing 78-58 to Pittsburgh on Nov. 25.
