Lipscomb beats Austin Peay 67-59

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jordan Burgason scored 17 points and Justin Glenn tallied a double-double, leading Lipscomb to a 67-59 win over winless Austin Peay on Monday night.

Jacob Arnett was the Bisons’ second-leading scorer with 14 points, and Glenn added 12 points and 12 rebounds for Lipscomb (4-3). Robert Boyd chipped in 11 points.

The Bisons opened the game on a 6-0 run and never trailed. The Governors pulled even at 9-all on Jerome Clyburn’s layup less than five minutes into the contest, but Glenn answered with back-to-back layups to push Lipscomb ahead for good.

The Bisons led 36-26 at the break and won despite being edged 33-31 by Austin Peay in the second half.

Lipscomb scored 18 points off 23 Austin Peay turnovers, while the Bisons committed just 12.

Melvin Baker scored 13 points to lead the Governors (0-8).
