KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Midfielder Davy Arnaud has been traded from Sporting Kansas City to the expansion Montreal Impact in a deal that returns defender Seth Sinovic plus allocation money.

The 31-year-old Arnaud had spent 10 seasons with Kansas City, setting a team record with 240 regular-season games and scoring 43 goals. He was limited to two assists in 16 games this year, his season hampered by sports hernia surgery in July.

Sinovic, from Leawood, Kan., played 20 games for Kansas City this year and was taken by the Impact in last week’s expansion draft.

The trade was announced Monday. Allocation money can be used to sign players or allocate against their contracts to get under the salary cap.
