Okla St’s Gundy considers SEC powers 2 best teams

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy isn’t going to start lobbying for the Cowboys to play in the national championship game, at least not yet.

He started out in the opposite direction Monday, saying he considers LSU and Alabama the top two teams in the country right now. That may change if the No. 3 Cowboys (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) are able to beat No. 13 Oklahoma (9-2, 6-2) on Saturday night and win their first conference championship.

Gundy says he doesn’t want to do anything that would take away from his team’s focus on beating the Sooners in the Bedlam rivalry game. If they don’t win, talk about a championship becomes moot.

The Cowboys are third in the BCS standings behind top-ranked LSU and Alabama.
