MONTREAL (AP) — The estranged wife of Vincent Damphousse will stand trial next year for allegedly assaulting and stealing from the former NHL star.
Allana Henderson is charged with one count of theft and one count of assault with a weapon against Damphousse last March. On Tuesday, her one-day trial was set for June 8.
Damphousse’s own case returns to court Wednesday. He faces six counts of assault against Henderson that allegedly occurred between 2008 and early 2011.
Damphousse’s lawyer has suggested the charges against his client stem from divorce proceedings. The Crown and Henderson’s lawyer say discussions aimed at ending the legal process are ongoing, but for now the case is moving forward.
