OKANOGAN, Wash. (AP) — An Okanogan man who was acquitted of manslaughter in the death of a baby daughter 13 years ago was charged Nov. 18 with manslaughter in the death of a baby son last summer.

Okanogan County prosecutors say 34-year-old Mark A. Stanger recklessly caused the death of his son Marcel. He died in a Spokane hospital a month after nearly drowning in the family bathtub in July.

The Wenatchee World reports (http://is.gd/rlRCJ5 ) sheriff’s detectives said Stanger put the boy in 6 inches of water, yelled upstairs to the mother to watch him and then fell asleep watching TV. The mother was on medications at the time for an injury. When she woke up she found the boy limp in the water.

In 1998 Stanger’s daughter died of shaking injuries. He was acquitted by a jury.
