SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — James Kinney scored a career-high 30 points, including the go-ahead basket, as San Jose State rallied from a 14-point first half deficit to beat Texas-San Antonio 72-66 Wednesday night.
Keith Shamburger scored 12 of his 18 points over the final 8:25 for the Spartans (3-3), who won for the second time in three games. He also added a career-high 11 assists.
Kannon Burrage scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half to lead the Roadrunners (4-4), who lost their second in three games. Stephen Franklin added 14 points for Texas-San Antonio while Michael Hale scored 13 and Melvin Johnson 12.
Kinney made 10 of 17 from the field, including 7 of 12 from beyond the 3-point line. Shamburger made all five of his free throws down the stretch. Calvin Douglas added 10 points.
Texas-San Antonio led at halftime, 36-28.
