Schools shine at Science Olympiad

Central Park — The 2011 Elementary Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament was held at Clark College on Nov. 19. Around 270 students competed in 19 teams from 18 schools in seven different districts. Seventy-seven volunteers including Clark faculty, staff and students helped with the tournament. Top winners were: n Bamboozling Boxes: Top group, Captain Strong; 1st place, Hockinson Heights; 2nd place, Grass Valley. n Barge Building: Top group, Walnut Grove; 1st place, Minnehaha; 2nd place, Dorothy Fox. n Metric Mastery: Top group, Grass Valley; 1st place, Grass Valley; 2nd place, South Ridge. n Paper Rockets: Top group, Grass Valley; 1st place, Grass Valley; 2nd place, Prune Hill Red. n Pondering Powders: Top group, Dorothy Fox; 1st place, Dorothy Fox; 2nd place, Grass Valley.
