MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Coron Williams and Velton Jones combined for 37 points and Robert Morris rode its backcourt to a big first half and an easy 66-54 win over Fairleigh Dickinson Thursday night in the teams’ Northeast Conference opener.

Williams led the Colonials (5-2) with 19 points and Jones finished with 18. Williams shot 7 for 10 from the floor, including 5 of 6 on 3-pointers.

Fairleigh Dickinson (1-5) was 1 for 9 from beyond the 3-point arc. Jones, meanwhile, went 6 for 11 from the floor and hit 6 of 9 free throws.

Robert Morris roared to a 36-14 halftime lead, and held its biggest lead — 24 points — early in the second half.

Lonnie Hayes scored 25 points to lead Fairleigh Dickinson but got little help. Kinu Rochford was the only other Knights player in double figures with 10 points.
