SEATTLE (AP) — Friends and supporters of Amanda Knox have gathered in a Seattle hotel to watch an Internet stream of the Italian court hearing where the former University of Washington student will learn if her 2007 murder conviction will be reversed.
Gathered are parents of Knox’s former high school classmates as well as people who have taken up her cause.
Knox has spent four years in an Italian prison, convicted of murder in the death of her British roommate, Meredith Kercher, in what a court has described as a drug-fueled sex assault.
Knox and her co-defendant and former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito are expected to make a final case for their innocence. They will learn whether their convictions and prison sentences will stand, be dismissed or altered.
