NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Craig Smith scored with 11 seconds left in overtime to lift the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Bryan Allen scored for Carolina (7-1-0), breaking a scoreless tie at 3:38 of the third period. He took a wrist shot from above the left circle that beat Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne to his glove side.

The Predators (1-4-1) tied the game at 1-1 at the 7:41 mark when Patric Hornqvist connected on the power play. He deposited a rebound from close range in front of the crease to beat Carolina goaltender Brian Boucher.

It was the fourth straight game that the Predators have scored on the power play.

Blake Geoffrion returned to the ice for the Predators and recorded an assist. He had been sidelined since cutting his right wrist in a preseason game against the Florida Panthers Sept. 19.

The Predators played the final 1:33 of regulation on the power play but failed to score.
