Published: September 30, 2011, 5:00pm

Vancouver author and historian Jeff Davis will discuss the odd, strange, interesting, spooky and unusual people and places of Washington at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Clark County Historical Museum.

The free presentation is part of the monthly First Thursday schedule at the museum, 1511 Main St.

Davis is the author of “Weird Washington.”

While it’s lighthearted and whimsical, “Weird Washington” is recommended by the Washington State Library as a start for young students in their Introduction to Washington State History courses.

Davis will share photos, video material, side stories and things the book’s publishers left out.

Davis also is a major in the U.S. Army, where his duties have included working as a military historian.
