CHICAGO (AP) — Receiver Johnny Knox is starting for Roy Williams for the Chicago Bears against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Picked as the starter in the preseason after signing with Chicago, Williams has been hampered by drops and a groin injury that caused him to miss a game. He had four catches for 55 yards in the opener against Atlanta, sat out the following week against New Orleans and did not have a reception against Green Bay.

Knox has nine for 189 yards entering Sunday’s game.

Running back Marion Barber was active for Chicago after missing the first three games because of a calf injury, while safety Chris Harris (hamstring) and tight end Matt Spaeth (calf) are out.

The Panthers are without cornerback Chris Gamble (concussion). Darius Butler starts in his place.
