BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU coach Les Miles says he’s pleased with the top-ranked Tigers’ depth at running back.
With Spencer Ware hobbled and Michael Ford getting limited work after a first-half fumble against Kentucky, Miles turned loose his next two tailbacks and watched as they helped top-ranked LSU to a 35-7 victory on Saturday.
Sophomore Alfred Blue had a career-best 72 yards on 16 attempts, while true freshman Terrence Magee accounted for 38 yards on 12 rushes in his first appearance of the year.
Both Blue and Magee ran for a touchdown, and their outings bode well for the Tigers (5-0, 2-0 SEC) as they try to maintain their grip on the No. 1 ranking when Florida (4-1, 2-1) visits Death Valley on Saturday.
Miles says Ware also should be ready by Saturday.
