BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Browns Pro Bowl center Alex Mack will undergo surgery to have his appendix removed.

Coach Pat Shurmur said Mack arrived at the team’s facility on Monday with symptoms of appendicitis and will have an operation later today. Mack, who has started 36 straight games since joining the Browns in 2009, played in Sunday’s game against Tennessee. Shurmur doesn’t have a time frame on Mack’s return.

Shurmur also said an MRI revealed top cornerback Joe Haden has a sprained knee. Shurmur said Haden “will miss some time” but doesn’t know how much. Haden was injured making a tackle in Sunday’s 31-13 loss to the Titans.

The Browns (2-1) have a bye this week.
