COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — It’s an old one-liner that has never been more apropos: You truly can’t tell the players at Ohio State without a scorecard.
Two — left tackle Mike Adams and defensive end Solomon Thomas — are returning for Saturday’s game at No. 14 Nebraska after serving a five-game suspension for taking cash and free ink from a local tattoo-parlor owner.
Two others — tailback Daniel Herron and wide receiver DeVier Posey — were supposed to come back from suspension for the same reasons this week but now must sit out a second suspension for being overpaid at summer jobs.
Plus, there is a variety of injuries that have sidelined other top Buckeyes players.
It all makes for a patchwork lineup for coach Luke Fickell’s team (3-2), which is trying to recover from a disastrous loss last week.
It won’t be easy.
