SEATTLE (AP) — Police are removing Occupy Seattle demonstrators who refused to remove their tents from the downtown Westlake Park.

KOMO Radio reports police started carrying off demonstrators Wednesday afternoon, after they refused a request from city park rangers to pack up.

Protesters showed up at the park over the weekend in support of the Occupy Wall Street demonstration in New York.

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn says they have a right to protest corporate power but their tents are displacing other people who have a right to use Westlake Park.
