MIAMI (AP) — Sage Rosenfels’ agent says the veteran quarterback has signed with the Miami Dolphins, who lost starter Chad Henne because of a season-ending shoulder injury.
Rosenfels signed Thursday, two days after being released by the New York Giants, agent Rick Smith said in a tweet.
Rosenfels, 33, was with the Dolphins in 2002-05. He had a strong preseason for the Giants before a blood disorder sent him to the hospital, but he hasn’t thrown a pass in a regular-season game since 2008.
Henne separated his left shoulder when tackled on a busted play in the first quarter of Sunday’s loss at San Diego. He was replaced by Matt Moore, who will make his first start for the Dolphins in their next game Oct. 17 against the New York Jets.
