PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Democrat with knowledge of the campaign says state Sen. Suzanne Bonamici will report raising $600,000 in the first two months of her bid to replace former Congressman David Wu.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss information that hasn’t been made public, and the person declined to say whether the fundraising figure includes any of the candidate’s own money.
Bonamici is in the midst of a competitive Democratic primary against state Rep. Brad Witt and Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian.
Bonamici Campaign Manager Carol Butler declined to discuss specifics of the fundraising report, which must be filed with the Federal Elections Commission by Oct. 15.
The campaign of Republican Rob Cornilles says he has raised $500,000.
