MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks believe they’ve saved their biggest rally for Friday at Miller Park, where the Milwaukee Brewers hope a familiar setting re-ignites their hitters.
The Game 1 starters — Arizona ace Ian Kennedy and Yovani Gallardo — square off in Game 5 with a berth in the NL championship series at stake.
None of the first four games was decided by less than three runs. Milwaukee won the first two at home and Arizona took the next two.
Kennedy, the 21-game winner who lost the opener, didn’t know if he’d get a chance to pitch again. Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks says the reason his team pushed so hard late in the season was to host this game.
It could be Prince Fielder’s last in Milwaukee. He’s a free agent after the season.
