VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Brazilian striker Camilo scored two goals on penalty kicks to lead the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 3-0 victory over Real Salt Lake on Thursday night.

Nizar Khalfan also scored for the Whitecaps (5-16-10), who avoided matching a league record for fewest wins in a season.

Salt Lake (15-11-6), which has already secured a playoff berth, extended its winless streak to four games.

Camilo’s goals were his 10th and 11th of the season, pulling into a tie for eighth on the league scoring list.

Both penalty-kicks were awarded after hand-ball infractions in Salt Lake’s 18-yard box during the 44th and 53rd minutes. Khalfan padded the lead with 2 minutes left against a tired Salt Lake squad that played a man down for the entire second half.
