NEW YORK (AP) — Detroit left fielder Delmon Young has left Game 5 of the AL division series against New York in the seventh inning Thursday night because of a mild strain of his left oblique.

Young popped out to end the top of the seventh but did not go out to take his position in the field. He was replaced by Ryan Raburn.

In the first inning, Young followed Don Kelly with the second of back-to-back homers off Ivan Nova. It was Young’s third homer of the series.

Acquired from Minnesota on Aug. 15 for Cole Nelson and Lester Oliveros, Young has been a very productive player for Detroit. In 40 games for the Tigers, he hit eight homers and had 32 RBIs.

Young was 2 for 4 with a single on Thursday.
