REWARD: Crime Stoppers offers reward in slaying of homeless man in Hazel Dell

Up to $1,000; David Michael Gates was 61

CRIME STOPPERS #11-34 CLARK COUNTY HOMICIDE

The Clark County (WA) Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for the public’s help in solving a homicide in Clark County, Washington.

On Monday, September 5, 2011, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the parking lot of Riverview Bank, located at 1220 Northeast 88th Street, for a death investigation. The deceased was identified as 61-year-old David Michael Gates of Vancouver, Washington. The cause of death has been determined to be a homicide.

There is little information known or available to the Sheriff’s Office about Gates other than he is transient and that he frequents the Hazel Dell area of Clark County and regularly visits the local Hazel Dell businesses.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is asking assistance from anyone having information as to Gates’ whereabouts on Sunday September 4th and Monday September 5th as well as any assistance on Gates’ associates.
