INCHEON, South Korea (AP) — Local youngster Soo-Jin Yang tied the course record as she took over the lead of the LPGA’s Hana Bank Championship on Saturday, one stroke ahead of top-ranked Yani Tseng.
Yang shot up to the top of the leaderboard with a round of 65 and a two-round total of 10-under 134 at Sky 72 Golf Club’s Ocean Course. The 20-year-old took advantage of ideal weather conditions to tie the course record set by Tseng just a day earlier.
Tseng shot a 70, recovering from two bogeys on her first three holes to fire off four straight birdie and claim a share of second place with two-time defending champion Na Yeon Choi, who had another bogey-free round.
