Aruna takes $500K Spinster in Polytrack debut

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Aruna posted a 112-length victory over Pachattack in the $500,000 Spinster Stakes at Keeneland on Sunday.

The 2-1 favorite made her debut on Polytrack a winning one for trainer Graham Motion, and earned an automatic berth into the Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic at Churchill Downs next month.

Ridden by Ramon Dominguez, Aruna covered the 1 1-8 miles in 1:47.9 and returned $6.80, $3.60 and $3. Pachattack paid $4.20 and $3.40, and La Gran Bailadora returned $7.80 to show.

Motion said Aruna, who made her previous 11 starts on turf, could run in either the BC Ladies Classic or the BC Filly & Mare Turf.
