CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd has a slight hip strain that won’t keep him out of the eighth-ranked Tigers game at Maryland next week.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said Boyd was sore but moving well and should be full go for practice this week. Swinney said he’d likely give Boyd Monday off before returning to work on Tuesday.
Boyd left the field early in the third quarter after getting hit by Boston College defensive end Max Holloway in the Tigers’ 36-14 victory.
Boyd was on the ground for several minutes as the fans at Death Valley held their breath waiting for him to get up.
Boyd was eventually helped off the field, his left leg being held off the ground. But X-rays at the stadium and an MRI were negative.
