ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Tech is off to its best start in 45 years. Now, it’s time for the Yellow Jackets to show they’re a legitimate title contender.
The next two weeks should give them a better idea.
The 12th-ranked Yellow Jackets (6-0, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) are preparing for their only stretch of back-to-back road games, starting with Saturday’s contest at Virginia.
Georgia Tech has traditionally struggled at Charlottesville and coach Paul Johnson expects a tough game, even though the Cavaliers (3-2, 0-1) have not been overly impressive this season.
Next week, Georgia Tech heads south to face the Miami Hurricanes (2-3, 0-2). Again, the opponent doesn’t look that tough, but Johnson says it’s always difficult to win conference road games.
