Letter: County manager applauded

The Columbian
Published: October 10, 2011, 5:00pm

I want to give my appreciation to Cleve Thompson, who retired last week as Clark County’s drug and alcohol program manager. He has been a real source of pride to Clark County. His accomplishments have been huge. He has worked diligently for years to help the “helpless.” Addiction is an illness that needs treatment. One never knows the demons that an addict knows or has been through.

Please talk to your legislators and elected officials to keep the programs alive. Treatment works — jails do not.
