HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — Defender Oguchi Onyewu has been given his first start for the United States under new coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Onyewu replaced Michael Orozco Fiscal in the lineup for Tuesday night’s exhibition against Ecuador, the only change from Saturday’s lineup in the 1-0 win over Honduras. Onyewu had not started since a 4-0 loss to Spain in early June.

Tim Howard remained in goal, with Steve Cherundolo at right back, Timmy Chandler at left back, Carlos Bocanegra at center back, Kyle Beckerman, Maurice Edu, Danny Williams and Brek Shea in midfield, and Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore at forward.
