Bluegrass Reward wins Santa Anita feature

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Even-money favorite Bluegrass Reward led from start to finish Thursday in the $48,350 Solvang Purse for California-breds at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Joe Talamo, Bluegrass Reward beat Lodi Red by 514 lengths, running 1 1-16 miles in 1:41.78. He paid $4, $2.40 and $2.10.

Lodi Red returned $3 and $2.40, while Caper’s Edge was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $2.80 to show.

The victory, worth $28,800, increased Bluegrass Reward’s career earnings to $101,540, with three wins in 13 starts.
