BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Browns starting cornerback Joe Haden and center Alex Mack are not practicing and their status for Sunday’s game in Oakland remains unclear.

Haden sprained his left knee on Oct. 2 against Tennessee and the Browns’ top defensive back hasn’t been cleared to practice. Mack had an appendectomy on Oct. 3, one day after playing all 87 snaps against the Titans despite being ill.

Mack was on the field with his teammates for practice Wednesday, but only as an observer. He stood to the side and watched his the Browns offensive line did drills.

Coach Pat Shurmur remains hopeful that he’ll have two of his best players Sunday when the Browns (2-2) visit the Raiders (3-2).
