PRAGUE (AP) — Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova will lead the Czech Republic in the Fed Cup final against Russia.

Fourth-ranked Kvitova has struggled since winning Wimbledon but she recently reached the semifinals of the Pan Pacific Open.

Czech captain Petr Pala added Lucie Safarova as the likely No. 2 singles player, while Lucie Hradecka should team up with veteran doubles specialist Kveta Peschke.

The final will be played from Nov. 5-6 final at Moscow’s Olympic Stadium.

The Czechs are playing in their first final, although Czechoslovakia won the title five times between 1975 and 1988. The Russians have won the Fed Cup four times since 2004.
