CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina has corrected a mistake in the contract extension for men’s basketball coach Roy Williams.

The school announced Thursday that Williams had received an extension through 2018 that would pay him a base salary of $325,000. But the school’s board of trustees re-approved the extension during a meeting Friday morning, fixing a mistake tied to a cost-of-living provision and adjusting the base salary to $333,938.

Williams is scheduled to receive an expense allowance of $30,000 this year and $40,000 in each of the next six years. He’ll receive supplemental income of between $1.35 million and $1.65 million annually. There are performance and academics bonuses as well.

The trustees approved the adjustment just after signing off on the hiring of Tulsa’s Bubba Cunningham as the school’s new athletic director.
