Glider crashes in cent. Wash., pilot killed

CLE ELUM, Wash. (AP) — A glider has crashed in Cle Elum, Wash., fatally injuring the pilot.

The Kittitas County sheriff’s office tells KIRO-TV the crash happened Thursday shortly after takeoff from the airport in Cle Elum.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus says he understands the aircraft was participating in a commercial shoot.

No additional information on the pilot was immediately available Thursday evening.

The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified.
