Value notices mailed to property owners

Clark County mailed Notice of Value forms Thursday to all property owners. The figure reflects the market value of the property as of Jan. 1, 2011, and will be the basis for 2012 property taxes.

“I understand that many property owners will have questions about their property value statements,” said Assessor Peter Van Nortwick. “Please be assured that the county’s assessment staff has worked diligently, especially in this economic climate, to gather and analyze data that determine property values and taxes.”

Property owners have 60 days from the date on the notice to appeal property values to the Board of Equalization.

For an appeal form, go to: http://www.clark.wa.gov/board-of-equalization/documents.html.
