PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Multnomah County, Ore., sheriff’s office says two hikers coming down the Larch Mountain trail found a Forest Service employee lying unconscious in the middle of the path.

Lt. Steve Alexander says the hikers called for help Friday and began CPR. Medics arrived but were unable to revive the man.

Alexander says there is no indication of foul play.

The man was not immediately identified pending notification of relatives.
