DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Quarterback Will Bardo rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another score, and Dayton recorded nine sacks to dominate Davidson in a 28-0 shutout on Saturday.

The Flyers (4-3, 2-2 Pioneer Football League) were powered by their run game and strong defense, which held Davidson to minus-17 yards on the ground. Dayton’s stout defense against the run forced the Wildcats (2-4, 0-3) to throw the football, pressuring quarterback Jonathan Carkhuff often.

Carkhuff completed 29 of 49 passes for 231 yards and one interception for the Wildcats, who have lost three straight games.

Taylor Harris and Bardo led a Dayton rushing attack that totaled 219 yards on the ground. Harris finished with 92 yards on 13 carries, scoring on a 13-yard run and a 56-yard touchdown from Bardo.

Bardo threw for 89 yards and rushed for 81 yards, scoring on runs of 11 and nine yards for Dayton.
