FT. MEYERS, Fla. (AP) — Greg Norman says he would not have picked Tiger Woods for the Presidents Cup.

U.S. captain Fred Couples used of his wild-card picks on Woods, even though the 14-time major champion had gone two years without winning. Norman is the International team captain. He told the Fort Myers News-Press that PGA champion Keegan Bradley would have been a more deserving pick.

Norman said he understands the value of Woods’ past record. But he says he would have picked a player who is ready to compete and who has performed at high level leading up to the matches.

Couples, who also took Bill Haas, said Bradley would be added to the team if Steve Stricker’s neck injury kept him from playing Nov. 17-20 at Royal Melbourne.
