BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Morgan Williams rushed for three touchdowns to help Toledo pull away in the second half in a 28-21 win over Bowling Green on Saturday.

Williams, who rushed for 136 yards, scored twice in the fourth quarter to break a 14-14 tie. His 13-yard score gave the Rockets (4-2, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) a 21-14 lead with 10:43 to play. Then, Williams scored on a 24-yard run to push the lead to 28-14 with 1:34 left.

BooBoo Gates returned the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown for the Falcons (3-4, 1-2), who lost their third straight game.

It was Toledo’s first win at Bowling Green since 2005.

The Rockets limited the Falcons’ Matt Schilz, who entered the game with a MAC-leading 16 touchdown passes, to one touchdown. Schilz passed for 220 yards, including a 27-yard scoring pass to Kamar Jorden that put the Falcons ahead 7-0 with 1 second remaining before halftime.
