KELSO, Wash. (AP) — The Cowlitz County Humane Society has returned nine boa constrictors and pythons that were seized from two Longview homes.
Animal Control Supervisor Mike Nicholson told The Daily News (http://bit.ly/njgSsY) they were returned on condition that the owners register them and keep them in secure enclosures.
The seizures helped publicize the county ordinance that requires owners to register snakes that may grow as long as 10 feet or more.
Nicholson says residents have registered nearly a dozen snakes since early September.
