Seattle police officer arrested in Chelan County

SEATTLE (AP) — A sergeant assigned to the Seattle Police Department’s domestic violence unit has been arrested for investigation of domestic violence.

The Seattle Times reports (http://bit.ly/qFSofs ) that Chelan County sheriff’s deputies took the officer into custody on the misdemeanor offense just before midnight Saturday.

The officer’s name hasn’t been released, but the department says he’s a 28-year veteran of the force.

Police officials have transferred the sergeant out of the unit, pending the ongoing investigation. The city’s Office of Professional Accountability will begin an administrative investigation into the employee’s conduct following the conclusion of the criminal case.
