CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have outrighted starting pitcher Mitch Talbot and outfielder Jerad Head off of their 40-man roster, making both free agents.
Talbot spent most of this season dealing with an elbow injury. He went 2-6 with a 6.64 ERA in 12 starts for Cleveland.
In 2010, the right-hander, who was acquired in a trade from Tampa Bay for catcher Kelly Shoppach, went 10-13 with a 4.41 ERA in 28 starts.
Head was called up from Triple-A Columbus in September. He batted .125 (3-for-24) in 10 games with Cleveland. With the Clippers, Head batted .284 with 24 home runs and 70 RBIs.
